Redwood Audio Model 000 - Demonstration Guitar

 

 

 

The First of Many:

The Model 000 is a demonstration piece done to explore tonal options achieved through humbucking pickups in combination with piezo acoustics on an electric guitar. 

 

A full range of electric sounds are available through use of a "Jimmy Page Les Paul" wiring.   In addition to the standard volume/tone/selection controls, push-pull knobs are utilized to allow the ability to independently coil-tap the bridge and neck pickups, reverse the phase of the bridge pickup, and reconfigure the pickups in series or parallel. 

 

In addition to the fully featured magnetic pickups, a Graph Tech Acousti-Phonic bridge system is used which combines individual piezo pickups for each string and a selectable "Mid/Dark" equalization with volume control.  A selector switch allows the use of acoustic, magnetic or both sets of pickups (blended).  And a mono/stereo switched jack allows the signals from each pickup system to be routed to independent amplifiers. 

The flexible pickup configurations and healthy sustain achieved with the build allow for a wide range of sonic possibilities before you even reach for your pedal board.  These are features we would not hesitate to include on future builds - in part or in full.
